Compare Essteele Per Benessere 32cm glass lid and Circulon 18cm straining lid to find the right replacement for your cookware.
Quick Answer
Choose the Essteele Per Benessere 32cm Glass Lid for Essteele Per Benessere covered sauteuse and wok pans; choose the Circulon Scratchdefense 18cm Straining Lid for Circulon ScratchDefense saucepans.
Why Brand-Specific Lids Matter
Cookware lids are not universal. Even if two lids look similar, the fit depends on the pan's rim diameter, depth, and handle placement. Using the wrong lid can let steam escape or create an unstable seal.
Both the Essteele and Circulon lids below are genuine spare parts designed for specific pan models. That means they are engineered to match the original lid's fit and performance, not just the diameter.
Essteele vs Circulon: What's Different?
The Essteele Per Benessere 32cm Glass Lid is made for the Essteele Per Benessere Covered Sauteuse and Wok 32cm (SKU 161370 and 161340). It is a standard glass lid that covers the pan during cooking.
The Circulon Scratchdefense 18cm Straining Lid is designed for the Circulon ScratchDefense 18cm / 2.8L saucepan. It has a straining function, so you can drain liquids without removing the lid completely.
The two lids serve different pan sizes and cooking tasks. One is for larger pans, the other for a smaller saucepan with a straining feature.
What to Check Before Buying a Replacement Lid
Always confirm the exact pan model and size before ordering a replacement lid. Measure the rim diameter and note the pan's shape (sauteuse, wok, or saucepan).
Check the lid's features: a straining lid is useful for pasta and vegetables, while a plain glass lid is better for simmering and braising.
If the lid is for induction, confirm that the pan itself is induction-compatible. The lid does not affect induction heating, but the pan must be magnetic.
Trade-Offs at a Glance
- Essteele 32cm Glass Lid: Best for Essteele Per Benessere sauteuse and wok pans. Offers a clear view of cooking and a tight fit, but no straining feature. If you need to drain liquids often, consider a separate strainer or colander.
